Associate Attorney
Insurance-related litigation
Dee J. Golightly

Dee J. Golightly is a native Las Vegan who embodies the often-underappreciated traits of Southern Nevadans. Dee is community-oriented, family-focused and broad-minded. His practice centers on all insurance-related litigation matters, first-party and third-party cases, coverage opinions and other matters. He brings to his practice an intellectual curiosity that's been a hallmark of his life -- whether that entails missionary work in northern Italy, singing in men's choir or leading his high school quiz team to victory.

Little surprise, then, that Dee's strong analytical mind has served him well both in his academic and professional careers. In 1998, Dee was admitted to Brigham Young University’s Honors Program with multiple academic scholarships. He worked his way through college, and was a member of the exclusive BYU Men’s Chorus. He graduated from Brigham Young in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and a minor in Italian. Dee was then admitted — again, with a coveted academic scholarship — to the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Even as a busy law student, Dee found ways to give back to the community, teaching a class on small claims court at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. He received his Juris Doctor degree, and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada, in 2007. Previously a law clerk at the firm, Dee was promoted to associate at Patton & Kiraly, P.C., when he was admitted to the Bar in October of 2007. Today he's a member of the Clark County Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, the Bar’s Construction Law Section, and serves as the publications chair and newsletter editor for the Construction Law Section.  Dee is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.

Above all, Dee understands that clients are more than just clients — they're people, first and foremost, with families to take care of and lives to live. His community roots make for a practice that balances compassion and diligence, understanding and determination. Perhaps the strongest evidence of his community-mindedness is his commitment to making Las Vegas a great place to raise a family: Dee married his high school sweetheart in 2002, and together they have four children, two girls and two boys.
